Our mines

are located in the mining friendly regions of Canada (Quebec and Nunavut), Finland, and Mexico, with exploration activities in each of these regions as well as in the United States and Sweden.

We produced a record 1,782,147 ounces of gold in 2019 and 4.3 million ounces of silver.

Agnico has a strong track record of growing gold reserves and resources through exploration — our gold reserves stand at 21.6 million ounces. We also have approximately 37 million ounces of silver, 120,000 tonnes of zinc and 85,000 tonnes of copper in reserves as of December 31, 2019.

Our flagship LaRonde mine has produced 6.3 million ounces of gold since 1988 and remains a consistent engine of earnings and cash flow.

LaRonde produced 403,000 ounces of gold in 2019.

Canadian Malartic (50% interest obtained in June 2014) is one of the world's largest gold producers.

Canadian Malartic produced its 5 millionth ounce on June 18, 2020. The 55,000-tonnes/day open pit mine and plant produced 669,000 ounces of gold in 2019 (on a 100% basis).

The Goldex underground mine is exploiting its M, E and Deep 1 zones and is developing the South Zone for production.

Goldex produced 141,000 ounces of gold in 2019.

During the 2019 transition year at the Meadowbank Complex, as mining commenced from the Whale Tail pit at Amaruq and ceased at Meadowbank, 193,000 of gold were produced in total at the Meadowbank Complex.

The Amaruq satellite deposit achieved commercial production on September 30, 2019.

Our second gold mine in Nunavut, Meliadine, achieved commercial production on May 14, 2019 and the mine produced 191,113 ounces of gold in 2019.

Meliadine has Agnico Eagle's largest mineral resources, and reserve grades more than twice the Company average.

The Kittila mine in northern Finland is the largest primary gold producer in Europe, and hosts the company's largest mineral reserves.

Kittila produced 186,000 ounces of gold in 2019, and an ongoing expansion project including shaft construction and mill upgrades is expected to increase the mill throughput by 25% to 2 million tonnes.

In northern Mexico, Pinos Altos and nearby Creston Mascota are comprised of underground and open-pit mines with substantial reserves of gold and silver, a 5,500-tonne/day plant and heap leach facilities.

These low-cost operations are a strong cash generator for the Company.

The La India open-pit, heap leach operation, also in northern Mexico, achieved commercial operations in 2014.

It has operating synergies with the Pinos Altos and Creston Mascota mine complex, only 70 km away.
